The Ten: Thou Shalt Be Set Free Subject

Above the eastern entrance to the U.S. Supreme Court Building is a frieze depicting the greatest law-givers in human history. Prominently featured among them is Moses holding the Ten Commandments. These ten laws are the cornerstone of the Judeo-Christian ethic, and they hold up our entire system of justice and morality. Without them, Western civilization would crumple. For millennia these ten laws have limited human freedom, restricting men from infringing upon the God-given rights of others. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. And thank God for the limitations he puts on us! But then a man named Jesus came along, and he made a stunning declaration. The Ten Commandments have never been about restricting men. The Ten Commands have always been about setting men free. You are invited to join us at 10 AM on ten different Sundays this fall as we explore each commandment in depth. And we promise that thou shalt not be disappointed. Thou shalt not be bored. And thou shalt be set free!
